Okay, get ready to laugh. I wrote this with Kenny Rogers in mind. Yeah, Kenny was at the top of his game back then, and I saw an opportunity. I just “knew” I could write a big hit for him, so I wrote this and sent it to everyone around him I could think of. I’m talking about labels, publishers, public relations, lawyers, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews (okay, I’m embellishing a bit here). You get the point.
