I met Laura Eastman Macolm after performing at a New Years event at the famous Lambs Club in NYC in 1980. She came up to me after my performance and asked if I wanted to perform at churches and coffee houses with her.
Imagine my surprise when we went to her Dad’s office (Eastman & Eastman) to rehearse our first time together, and seeing a large array of gold and platinum records all over the place, most of which had Paul McCartney’s name on them. Turned out her sister was Linda Eastman McCartney! Her father and brother were Paul’s attorneys, as well as for many other successful artists of the day.
We recorded this in 1980 on a hand held mono tape recorder. She sang while I plucked the ol’ guitar strings.
I enjoyed backing Laura at those churches and coffee houses. What memories! Thanks Laura for those incredibly fun, musical days I got to enjoy with you both in NYC and Virginia Beach.
May the peace of Christ and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you and yours always!
