Partially true autobiography. The names have been changed to protect the innocent!

Actually, believe it or not, there really was an “Al” who “for a dollar shaved his head” in high school. Someone dared him in music class to shave his head for one dollar and the next day he strolled in bald as Bruce Willis.

And of course there’s always a “Mary Lou” in school who had a crush on someone else.

I recorded this at a tiny NYC apartment studio back in ‘85. The guy had a brand new 8 track recorder and was recording people for next to nothing to build up his recording experience and clientele. He provided the background vocals. Once again, as with a couple of other of my tunes, I sang it in a weird low voice. Honestly, drugs were not a factor, LOL.
